Description Dr. Thomas B. McClintic was sent by the U.S. Public Health and Marine Hospital Service to Montana in 1911 and 1912. McClintic continued Dr. Ricketts’ studies of spotted fever and provide more conclusive proof of Ricketts’ theory that infected ticks existed in nature. Dr. McClintic contracted Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever in August 1912 and died.
