Description Dr. Howard Ricketts worked in Mexico City during a typhus epidemic. IThe images show laboratory work, and images of Mexico City during the time. Ricketts is credited with designing the experiment that first demonstrated tick transmission of Rocky Mountain spotted fever and with identifying the causative organism of the disease. Dr. Ricketts died of typhus while working in Mexico City.
