Description Photograph of a handbill issued by the Walker County Board of Health during the U.S. Public Health Service’s campaign in Washington state for the prevention and control of typhoid fever. The handbill promotes the use of sanitary privies by showing a picture of properly constructed privies as well as through a list of instructions on the maintenance of a privy. In addition, the handbill lists various diseases besides typhoid which may be spread by filthy privies.
