Provenance Designed by Captain Edward H. Rau for a prion research experiment in Dr. Carleton Gajdusek’s lab to hold samples of infected tissue. Experiment was to see how high a temperature prion could withstand. Temperature went up to 100 degree C (which is why metal is partly melted).
